    • Effects of neonatol rabbit Schwann cells on promoting repair of optic nerve contusion in adult rabbits

      Objective To study the effects of neonatol rabbit Schwann cells(SC) on repair of optic contusion in adult rabbits. Methods 24 h after the adult rabbit optic nerves was contused,0.1 ml of SC suspension (group A) and saline water (group B) were injected into the vitreous of injured eyes respectively.All the animals were studied by retinal ganglion cell (RGC) and axon counting,flash visual evoked potential (FVEP) tests at various intervals after injury. Results At the 4th week after injury,the number of RGC was (19.89plusmn;3.79)/mm in group A and (12.67plusmn;4.12)/mm in group B,and the density of axons was (94.569plusmn;793)/mm2 in group A and (36.085plusmn;285)/mm2 in group B.There was dramatical difference between group A and B (Plt;0.01).The amplitude of FVEP wave of group A increased from 48% to 88% on the 3rd day after injury,and still dept 78% at the 8th week and group A was significantly higher than group B at various intervals (Plt;0.01). Conclusion SC are effective in promoting the repair of optic nerve contusion by increasing the survival rate of RGC,rescuing axons from degeneration,and dramatically promoting the function of the optic nerve. (Chin J Ocul Fundus Dis,2000,16:91-93)

    • Effect of rabbit Schwann cells on promoting neurite growth of retinal neurons

      Purpose To study the effects of Schwann cells(SC) on promoting and supporting axon growth of rabbit retinal neurons in vitro. Methods The scistic nerves of neonatal rabbits were dissected and cultured for 2 weeks to obtain SC monolayers. The retinal cells that had been freshly dispersed were seeded respectively onto the SC monolayers or poly L lysine covered dishes,and the morphology of cultured retinal neurons was observed and the 24th hours and 48th hours respectively under the phase contrast microscopic. Results Retinal neurons of neonatal rabbits attached to the two substrate and extended axons at the 24th hour.Neurite length on SC reached 85plusmn;17mu;m at the 24th hour and 283plusmn;27mu;m at the 48th hour respectively and was significantly longer than on acellular substrate (Plt;0.01) Conciusion SCs are effctive in promoting and supporting neurite growth of retinal neurons in vitro.     • Research progress of clinical importance of detecting cytokines in the intraocular fluid in diabetic macular edema

      Diabetic macular edema (DME) is the main cause of vision loss in diabetic patients, its pathogenesis is complicated, and the clinical treatment is not good. DME is extremely harmful to vision. With the deepening of relevant studies, its related pathological mechanism has become more and more clear, and the treatment methods have also changed accordingly. In recent years, the rapid development of intracocular fluid cytokine detection technology has provided a more reasonable explanation of the mechanism of DME and made the choice of treatment more reasonable. However, the acquisition of intraocular fluid is an invasive operation with a certain risk of infection. If the level of relevant cytokines in intraocular fluid can be linked with the relevant imaging indicators, it will provide a better choice for the treatment and prognosis monitoring of DME and reduce the risk of invasive operation, and further clinical studies are needed to explore its correlation in the future.

    • Expressions of E-cadherin and vascular endothelial growth factor in gastrointestinal stromal tumors and their clinical significances

      ObjectiveTo detect expressions of E-cadherin (E-cad) and vascular endothelial growth factor (VEGF) in gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) tissues and analyze their relationships with clinicopathologic features of patients with GIST.MethodsForty paraffin-embeded specimens of surgical resected GIST from January 2015 to March 2018 in the Pathology Department of Yuhuangding Hospital Affilicated to Qingdao University were retrieved. The expressions of E-cad and VEGF proteins were detected by the immunohistochemical method.ResultsThe positive expression rates of E-cad and VEGF proteins in the GIST tissues were 10.0% (4/40) and 50.0% (20/40), respectively. The positive expression rates of E-cad and VEGF proteins were associated with the tumor diameter, mitotic counts, and risk classification (P<0.05). The positive expression rate of the E-cad was negatively related to that of the VEGF in the GIST tissues (rs=–0.55, P=0.001).ConclusionFrom results of this study, VEGF and E-cad might be related with malignancy of GIST, which might be potential facators in predicting prognosis of GIST.

    • Evaluation of the application of dexmedetomidine for moderate sedation in endoscopic ultrasonography

      ObjectiveTo evaluate the application of dexmedetomidine for moderate sedation in patients undergoing endoscopic ultrasonography.MethodsPatients who were planned to undergo endoscopic ultrasonography in West China Hospital of Sichuan University from February to June 2019 were randomly divided into dexmedetomidine group (trial group) and propofol group (control group). The basic conditions, success rate of endoscopic ultrasound diagnosis and treatment, sedation-related adverse events, implementation of airway management, postoperative comfort evaluation and endoscopic physician satisfaction score of the two groups were compared.ResultsA total of 120 patients were eventually enrolled, 60 in each group. There was no significant difference in the basic conditions of the two groups (P>0.05). The success rate of endoscopic ultrasound diagnosis and treatment in two groups were 100%. There was no significant difference in the incidence of bucking, apnea and bradycardia between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of hypotension (15.0% vs. 31.7%), hypoxemia (6.7% vs.20.0%) in the trial group was lower than those in the control group, the differences were statistically significant (P<0.05). The proportion of patients in the trial group who performed airway management was lower than that in the control group (1.7% vs. 28.3%), and the difference was statistically significant (P<0.05). There was no significant difference in postoperative pain score, the first time to get out of bed and postoperative 15-item quality of recovery questionnaire score between the two groups (P>0.05). The incidence of nausea and vomiting at 6 hours after operation (48.3% vs. 3.3%) and 24 hours after operation (10.0% vs. 0.0%) and the time required for recovery of gastrointestinal function [(201.4±178.4) vs. (148.5±75.7) min] in the trial group were higher than those in the control group (P<0.05). The median (the lower and upper quartile) of comfort score of patients and satisfaction score of endoscopic physicians were 8 (6, 10) and 8 (7, 9) in the trial group, respectively, and were 10 (9, 10) and 9 (8, 10) in the control group, with statistically significant differences (P<0.05).ConclusionModerate sedation with dexmedetomidine could provide good sedative and analgesic effects in endoscopic ultrasonography. It has little effect on respiration and blood pressure, but the incidence of postoperative nausea and vomiting were higher than deep sedation with propofol. And patient comfort and endoscopic physician satisfaction also need to be improved.

    • 布加綜合征的MRI影像學表現

      目的總結MRI檢查對布加綜合征(BCS)的診斷價值。 方法回顧性分析2010年10月至2014年10月期間于昆明醫科大學第一附屬醫院行MRI平掃及增強掃描的14例BCS患者的MRI圖像資料。 結果14例BCS患者的MRI直接征象為肝靜脈和(或)下腔靜脈狹窄或阻塞,并據此分為Ⅰa型2例,Ⅰb型1例,Ⅱb型4例,Ⅲa型1例,Ⅳa型1例,Ⅳb型5例。8例急性BCS患者中,3例肝內靜脈形成陳舊性血栓,1例下腔靜脈內有血栓形成;8例肝臟呈彌漫性腫大,6例伴有腹水和脾腫大,1例伴有膽囊水腫;5例行MRI平掃示肝實質信號不均勻,增強后肝實質呈中心強化,周邊強化減弱;2例出現肝外側支循環,1例出現肝內側支循環。6例慢性BCS患者中,3例肝臟體積縮小,1例尾狀葉代償性肥大,2例肝內出現多發再生結節;4例伴有腹水和脾腫大,1例伴有膽囊水腫;6例行MRI平掃示肝實質信號不均勻,增強后4例呈“地圖樣”強化,2例肝臟中央部分出現斑片狀強化,而周邊部分強化程度相對較低,延遲掃描時肝臟呈較均勻強化;6例出現肝外側支循環,其中1例伴有肝內側支循環。 結論MRI圖像能夠顯示BCS的直接或間接征像,是診斷急、慢性BCS的重要的無創性檢查方法。
