癲癇是常見的神經系統疾病，其中高達 30% 的患者為藥物難治性癲癇，不僅給患者造成身心的危害，也增加了社會、家庭的負擔。而單純依據臨床特征和現行癲癇用藥指南的給藥方案，難以獲得滿意的治療效果。隨著基因測序技術的發展，越來越多的癲癇致病基因得以發現，可以精確地幫助醫生明確癲癇發生的機制，輔助臨床選擇適合的個體化治療方案，把握治療時機。
