精神衛生作為重要的公共衛生問題，受到了廣泛關注。而精神障礙是監獄里最主要的犯病因素，大約超過90%的罪犯患有精神障礙。2013年5月1日中國頒布實施的《精神衛生法》，明確界定了監獄精神衛生工作內容及職責，規定了監獄對精神障礙罪犯負有的責任，為監獄精神衛生工作的建設指明了方向。現就國內外監獄精神衛生工作研究現狀作一綜述，以期為新形勢下中國監獄精神衛生工作提供相關參考。
